Mundaroo State Forest - Road Maintenance Activities
Forestry Corporation of NSW have advised that they have road maintenance activities currently in progress within the Mundaroo State Forest in two locations adjacent to the Hume and Hovell Track.
The road maintenance activities involve heavy plant (Grader, Roller, Watercart, Gravel Trucks) working along Blue Hills/Hardys Road and Jorgensons Road for approximately two to three weeks commencing in mid-January 2026 (see locations on the map below - supplied by Forestry Corporation of NSW).
The affected sections of the track are on 1. Jorgensons Road between Munderoo Access Road and Munderoo Campsite, approximately 3km from the Mannus Glenroy Road heading south along the Track; and 2. Hardys Road between Blue Hills Road and Carboona Gap, approximately 10km west of Munderoo Campsite.
Signage will be placed on the roads/track with roading contractors managing safe access for walkers. The track will remain open to walkers but to ensure a safe walkway through the affected area, walkers are advised to follow instructions from and be aware of heavy plant movements along the road. The Hume & Hovell Track Route is indicated by the maroon dotted line below.
For further information or enquiries specific to this work please contact Forestry Corporation on (02) 6947 3911 or visit the website at www.forestrycorporation.com.au
Track Managers advise walkers to use caution when passing through this section. You must remain on the track and ensure you are prepared with sufficient supplies and water in the event that delays are experienced. Be mindful when passing through this section as there may be increased traffic on nearby forestry roads as road maintenance activities are undertaken.
Please note: the Hume & Hovell Track passes through numerous land tenures which means access and management may be impacted by the governing body. This includes chemical usage, harvesting operations, road works and maintenance.
