Pompey Pillar Bridge Damaged
A pedestrian bridge on Pompey Pillar Creek just south of Pompey Pillar has been damaged by a fallen tree. This has caused significant damage to the structural foundations and will need to be fully replaced.
While the bridge can be safely crossed at present (with some difficulty) it will be out of commission during reconstruction and there will be a short detour in place on forestry roads to allow walkers to find their way through this section. Further updates including a detour map will be provided before reconstruction.
Walkers are urged to take care when crossing, we will endeavour to have this cleaned up and replaced as soon as possble.
We want to remind walkers to always be prepared with track maps in the event that detours on the track are required, due to unexpected track issues, so you can safely navigate your journey.
Please refer to the map below showing the location of the damaged bridge.
