A little known sidetrack on the Hume and Hovell Track boasts amazing views of Lake Hume and Tabletop, just north of Albury.
From Monday 13th March, NSW Forestry Corporation will be undertaking harvest operations near Blowering Dam. For public safety the Yellowin Access road from Blowering Camp road to Snubba road and Blowering Camp road from Yellowin Access road to Foreshore Road intersection will be closed. Public access will still be available to the western foreshore via a two-way traffic detour on Sturgess and McDonalds trails from Snubba road and thoroughfare traffic to and from Talbingo will be directed back to Yellowin Access road from Blowering Camp road along a section of Foreshore road. These closures will likely be in place from Monday 13th March until the end of June.
There may be increased traffic along some sections of the H & H track due to haulage and the public detour but otherwise the track should be unaffected. See the map for more details or contact us.
From late November, the Hume and Hovell Track will be closed from the Fitzpatrick Trackhead through to Log Bridge Creek Road due to forestry harvesting operations in the Wee Jasper and Bondo State Forests.
The harvesting operations will likely keep this section of the track closed until early 2017 and during this time there will be a 17km detour in place.
The detour will mean that the Log Bridge Creek campsite will not be accessible. The next available campsite if heading in a southerly direction is Micalong Creek Campsite.
We will advise when the track is open again after forestry operations have completed. For more information, contact the Forestry Corporation of NSW.
